Take a walk down memory lane. This special tour through Ngā Manu Nature Reserve is led by conservation icon and 50-year Ngā Manu veteran, our founding trustee, David Mudge with Rhys Mills who has over 30 years of conservation history at Ngā Manu as our Reserve Supervisor. David and Rhys have played significant and vital roles at Ngā Manu over 50 years of preservation, conservation and development of the reserve. Working alongside Founder Peter McKenzie, this pair of dedicated conservationists have plenty of stories to share.

David and Rhys invite you to join them for this once in a lifetime special event as we remember the inspirational legacy Peter left to the people of Aotearoa. Learn about the hard work and dedication of these founders who, with many volunteers and staff, have contributed to Ngā Manu to save and preserve a remnant of lowland swamp forest and turn farmland in to this reforested haven for Aotearoa’s native species and for the people who love visiting Ngā Manu today.
