Buy Dad his own backyard trapping equipment for Father’s Day
Backyard trapping goes a long way to contribute towards New Zealand’s goal of being Predator Free by 2050 and eradicating possums, stoats and rats. Everyone has a part to play.
Ngā Manu sells traps for rats, stoats, ferrets, weasels, and possums.
We stock a variety of trapping devices including the Rat/Mouse tunnel (with trap included), the Flipping Timmy for possums and D-Rat, as well as the new DOC250.

Wētā motels
Ever wanted to watch a wētā in their natural environment from a safe distance? A wētā motel is essentially a nice dry
hole that wētā can crawl into and be safe from predators like rats, mice, stoats, cats, birds and hedgehogs. What better way to watch these fascinating but not so nice looking creatures through a window so we can see them and not have to touch them!
Dad will love this.
For sale now in the Ngā Manu nature giftshop.
Give Dad a native plant this Father’s Day
If you’ve been to Ngā Manu recently you will have seen our new giant kiwi and eggs display (NB: the eggs are not to scale otherwise they would be 1/3 of the size of the kiwi!). Take a selfie next to the kiwi and tag us in.
And if that wasn’t fun enough, look closely at the display and you will see that they are located amongst plants which we are now selling as part of our nature giftshop.
From the Forest to the Shop
The plants have come directly from our own native forest, rejuvenated over the past 50 years to restore the natural lowland swamp forest of the Kāpiti Coast. They are potted and readied for the shop with loving care from our volunteers.
Prices are very competitive. We have a good variety – come in and check them out for yourself.
Check out our outdoor display and talk to one of our experts about the best plants to use in your garden and how they benefit the environment.
We look forward to seeing you all at Ngā Manu soon.
