Eel feeding

The wetlands of Ngā Manu are home to both short-fin eels and endangered long-fin eels (tuna). They are fed daily and have grown accustomed to gathering en-masse in a pond where you can get a close look or even help feed them.

Join staff at the eel feeding pond for the free talk, an informative insight into the world of these unique animals and their fight for survival.

Monday – Friday: 2pm daily
Saturday, Sunday and all public holidays: 11am & 2pm
Duration: About 15 minutes
Private eel talks at other times by appointment only.
