Eel feeding

The wetlands of Ngā Manu are home to both short-fin eels and endangered long-fin eels (tuna). They are fed daily and have grown accustomed to gathering en-masse in a pond where you can get a close look or even help feed them.

Our Rangers give you an insight on the long life cycle of our native tuna (eels) and the extraordinary journey they undertake.

Monday – Friday: 2pm
Saturday, Sunday and all public & school holidays: 12.00 pm & 2pm
