    Our experience overall was excellent but the highlight was having the Kākā on my husband's shoulder for about 10 minutes. He (the kaka) was preening himself and rubbing his head Ian's beard. Such amazing interaction with us.

    The guided bird tour is excellent with the guide being informative but also personalising her talk with experiences she has had with the birds and other animals we saw with her. It is well worth making sure that you arrive in time for the bird tour.
