Meet captivating birds like the cheeky Kea, vibrant Kākā, and graceful Kererū, as well as our iconic Kiwi, ancient Tuatara, and various aquatic birds like Scaup, Whio, and Pateke. Have the chance to see our fascinating geckos in action. 

Each day presents a new wildlife challenge for the Ngā Manu crew, and during the Ranger Experience, you’ll be right in the middle of the action!

This experience is also a fantastic treat for school holidays, offering a hands-on opportunity to learn about and engage with New Zealand's unique wildlife.

    had an amazing time with your team!! They did not stop talking about it for days and have written a very detailed story about their ranger experience to share with their class.
    Both boys love nature and learning about NZ wildlife so they loved the experience from seeing behind the scenes, learning what it takes to look after the animals and all the facts they learnt throughout the day. Even the hot chocolates in the staffroom were a highlight because 'they were just like real staff'.
    Thank you for giving them such a great experience and treating them so well. They are already asking if they can have another Ranger day....... so you might see them again around one of their birthdays, if they keep wearing me down.

    We booked our daughter in during the school holidays to be a ranger for something a bit different and as a learning experience and she had the best day. Mel and Alicia were so wonderful and patient with her, she learnt so much and the amount of wildlife that she was able to get up close to was incredible. Definitely worth it as a memorable experience!
